The Smitten Kitchen

http://smittenkitchen.com/

A cooking blog, with an emphasis on baked goods and sweets. As an aspiring pastry chef, this blog(and many others) plays a big role in expanding my repertoire of recipes.

The blog itself is simple and relatively easy to use. It's clean, with little getting in the way of the beautiful images of delicious food. Each entry is separated by several horizontal dotted lines and each entry begins with a title that reflects what the author will be making next. Each entry(if the author isn't too lazy) has several gorgeous photos of most of the steps to help the reader get through each recipe.

Given that each entry is longer than a set number of words, there's a link at the bottom of each entry leading to the actual entry. The link is easily seen if you read through the initial post, and it's pretty convenient for those of us who don't want to read the recipe for "Classic Cobb Salad" or "Shakshuka".

There are tags and a "see more" option for recipes that the author thinks you'd like based on the recipe you're looking at. There's a comment section for readers to comment on how simple or complicated each recipe was. Basically, each entry is identical, except for what the actual entry is about.

On the left side, there are links to helpful resources, like a conversion chart, and links to recent posts, so you don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find past posts. I've never actually used any of these links because I've never actually seen them. But now that I've clicked on some of them, they're quite useful and entertaining.

I think the thing I adore the most about this blog(aside from the pictures and the witty comments) is the simplicity of it all. Everything is so easily seen, so easily clicked, so easy to use!
