Icelandic Volcano Effects


For this post I chose an image from space that shows the thickness of clouds. As you can see from the visualization, the ash and smoke from the volcano has created dense clouds that make air travel impossible. The winds have blown the clouds to the south east of the volcano. Air travel may be possible if the clouds were blown north west (sparsely populated areas) instead of south east (towards the rest of Europe). This visualization does a good job of integrating colors and geographical placements. The darker the color, the more dense the clouds are at that location.
