The concept of "social pixels" is an emerging trend in visualizing conversations in social media such as Twitter. "Revisit" is a tool that shows real-time visualization of twitter messages with new messages popping out. I searched for conversations about the volcano and here is what I got. Another one is "Social Collider" that shows cross-connections between conversations on Twitter.
